SATPAC Support

I cannot view PDF files from SATPAC, I get a "PDF Viewer" error...

This information is intended to assist users who have a valid PDF viewer installed on your computer and you are still unable to view lists and other documents generated by SATPAC 4.

SATPAC allows you to specify what PDF viewer you prefer to use when viewing and printing documents from SATPAC. Certainly the first recommendation is to install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader available for virtually every desktop operating system in common use. You can download and install the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader program, free of charge or obligation, from the Adobe web site: Get Adobe Reader

Alternatively, a distribution version of Adobe Reader is provided on your SATPAC 4 CD (within the "Extras" folder).

If you have already installed a PDF viewer, or know that you have a working version already installed, then please following the instructions below:

  1. From the "View" menu, select "Advanced Program Settings"

  2. Select the "PDF Viewer" tab from the "Advanced Program Settings" dialog.


  3. Select the viewer option that you prefer.

The preferred option is the "Use default system viewer," however, if the default system viewer is not installed, configured, or responding properly then an alternate option is recommended.

If you select the "Use specified program" option, you will be able to manually specify the location of the particular PDF viewer of your choice. You may also use the "Search" feature, which will search your local file system and attempt to locate a valid PDF viewer.
